MEETING OF CREDITORS.

A meeting of creditors in the estate of John Armstrong, of Kakaramea, was held at the Court-house on .Wednesday last. Tho following creditors were present : T. North, T. Robson; John Paterson, Chas. Days and J. D. Powdrell. . Mr North was voted to the chair, and on the motion of Mr Days, was also appointed Trustee. In reply to questions, the debtor said :—I made over 11 bullocks, waggon, and dray to Thomas Tapp, about 8 or 9 months back for £155. I have a section on the Skeet Road which ! lease from another party. I pay £l9 every six months for it, and in July next there will be £lO7 to v, pay. I have passed over nothing to ; anyone since February 2, last. 1 I have paid two instalments on the land, but do not hold the license. I buy the land off Graham, and it is to be transferred to me. I lease the land from Del am ore. I paid the instalments at the land office,

and hold the receipts. It will be transformed from Graham to Delaraore. I got £49 for insurance, and drew £49 in February. I did not give a man £2O. I did not tell a man I could not pay for the timber. I went to Days’ clerk for the stuff. There are 100 acres in the section. I have 10s in my banking account, 1 fenced some land in last week. I am quite willing to give up my interest to the creditors. I might have said the land was mine. I was making improvements for my own benefit, because the land was to become mine. I have te pay the instalment in v July. ' Mr Dale sold a section to Chapman. .. It was resolved that the trustee’s remunerarion should be five per cent. It was moved by Mr Robson, seconded by Mr Days and carried, “ That the trustee take legal advice with the view of prosecuting the debtor for fraudulent bankruptcy.” It was resolved to communicate with Captain Wray with a view of preventing the land from becoming the property of the debtor until the creditors are satisfied.
