Weuther forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day ; Wind—between northeast and nbrth-west ht all; places north Napier, Nelson, and Hokitika during next 12 hours but, changing south of ’west [after* that: time, but at all other places wind' between south-east and north-east. Barometer—-Further fall at ’all places north of Kaikoura and [Hokitika ; fall soon at all othe places; sea heavy on western coast and very heavy on eastern coast, south of East Cape. Warnings ■for northerly gales have/been serit TO all places north of Napier and 'Hokitika, [and to all other places. Synopsis of last ; 24 hours I—North of Kaikoura and [Hokitaku the haromer' has continued Jailing, but from thence southward it ■has risen steadily. —There have been 'strong southerly winds, with rain at most places north of Kaikoura and New 'Plymouth.
