(per press association) OPUNAKE, March 29. All the Natives for ten miles round are going to Parihaka to welcome Te Whiti and Tohu. It is stated that four or five hundred from kaiangas on the Waimate Plains are expected up within the next few days. They will not be permitted to remain long, and it is understood that when the tangi is over all will have to go back to their own settlements. - - -- r , :r ... A house belonging 'to a carpenter named Taylor has been destroyed by fire. ;The occupants lost nearly everything. [Both parents were fast asleep, but were wakened by the cries of the baby, .and found themselves enveloped in smoke. The house was insured on the Northern Company for £IOO.
