MR FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FOliT- , NIGHTLY STOCK REPORT. Wednesday, March. 21. I have no improvement in the cuttle market since my last. Sheep have risen in values, with a brisk demand. All (be sheep offered d uring .the past I or! night have sold readily at the quotations below. The bidding was very good at the yards fo-day. The prices for sheep improved Is 6(1 p er bead as the sale went on. Cattle. —At Wavcrley about 150 were yarded—One pen of cows sold at £2 17s 6d. At Hawera only two pens were quitted," viz.’, fat cows, at £4 2s 6-1. At the yards to-day 80 head were yarded— Fat' cows, £5 5s to £6 10s ; cows, £3 10a 6d ;. 2-year-old steers, £3 8s ; yearlings, £2 5s ; calves. 275. .Sheep. —AfWaverloy 1992 wore penned —Fat ewes, 8s 6d to 9s | lambs, 4s Id to 5s 6dgood- breeding,ewes, 11 s 2d. At Hawera 1200 came forward.—Maiden ewes, 12s; wethers, 11s 3d ; lambs in wool,-7m 9.1 ;isliorn lainbs, ss-2d.At St Hill-street 1550 head were sold—Wethers, lls to 12s 6cL; fat ewes, lls 7d to 13s8d ; ewes.and wethers, 9s 4d to lls 7d ; did ewes, ss. HORSES.—The bidding for some of the lots was fairly provement in values. Exports. —4o cattle, 300 sheep, 50 horses.
