HAWERA RAM FAIR. F. E. Jackson’s Hawera ram fair was wellattended, but prices ruled low, A few of Mr McNichol’s Auckland rams fetched up to £5 each, but they only averaged about £3 —a price which would not be remunerative to the breeder. . Most of them were of good quality, but a few were below the .standard of most imported rams. Most of the other rams entered for sale found buyers either 1 at the hammer or after the auction; but the prices were far; below real values. Some' rams entered by Moore Hunter and some sold by John JDouglas were really well-bred animals, and it is to be regretted that the time and money invested by them in the introduction of sheep of really first-class quality ■ should be so poorly appreciated. None of Mr Pearce’s longwool Devons Were sold.— Star. ,* LONDON SEED TRADE.' Messrs John Shaw, and Sons, of, 37 Mark Lane, London, E.C., report through their agent,' Mr Leonard W.
