Hurdles, of 40 sovs ; 2 miles ahd a distance ; over nine flights of hurdles, 3ft 9in high ; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs. To start at 11.30 o’clock. 2. Hack Hurdle Race, of 10 sovs ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entry ; one mile and a distance ; weight not less than 9st; for all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted; horses entered for any of the races to be run for at this meeting are not qualified to start for this race. To start at 12 o’clock, 3. Flying Handicap, of 30 sovs; one mile ; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs; winner of any handicap of the value of 30 sovs or more after declaration of weights to carry 61b extra. To start at 12.30 o’clock. 4. Hack Race, of 10 sovs about 1 mile ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entry; for all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted ; horses entered for any of the races to be run for at this meeting are not qualified to start tor this race. To start at 1.16 o’clock. 5. Eqmont Handicap, of 120 sovs ; second horse to receive 30 sovs from the stakes ; nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 4 ! sovs ; distance, 2 miles ; winner of any handicap of the value of 100 sovs or more after declaration .of weights to carry 51b extra. To start at 2 o’clock. 6. Maiden. Plate, of 40 sovs ; for three-year-olds and upwards ; weight for age; distance 1£ miles ; entrance, 2 sovs ; open to all horses that have never won any race prior to entry ; winners of any race after entry to .carry a penalty of 51b. To start at 3 o’clock. 7. PAOKI RaOe, of 12 sovs ; second horse to receive 3 sovs from the stakes; entrance, 1 sov ; distance, miles; for bona fide Maori horses and Maori riders; no weight under 9st. To start at 3.30 p.m. 8. District Rage Handicap, of 40 sovs ; distance, 2* miles ; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 2 sovs ; open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entry by bona fide residents who have been living between the White Cliffs and the Manawatu River for that time ; winner 6t Bgrnont Handicap to carry 51b extra. To start at 4 p,ra. 9. Consolation Stakes Handicap, of. 20 sovs; for all beaten horses ; 1 mile and a distance; nomination 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 4.45 p.m. . RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition —That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. 5 All entries to be scaled and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Hawcrn, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of tho owner, and colours of tho rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will bo fined H sovs. When two or more horses start, tho property of tho same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a line of 2 sovs to tl ic race •fund. All races to bo run under the W.J.O, rules. ; Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes, Qualification foe for non-members, £l, No other nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after tho lime specified for closing. .. Letters boating tho postmark of tho date of entry, and telegrams of the same date, will be received. All persons intending to withdraw horses arc required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a lino of G sovs to tho race fund. Tho second horse to save Ids stakes in all races, except otherwise stated. Nominations, Bntiubs, and Acceptances. Nominations.—For the Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Egmout Handicap, and District Race Handicap will close at the Hon Secretary’s office, Hawora, on 24th February, at 10 a.m. Weights to bo declared on 2nd March, Acceptances and general entries will close on 6th March, at the Hon Secretary’s office, Hawcra, at 9 p.m. The attention of owners is directed to the fact that the club now possesses an excellent course, and that upwards of £IOOO has been spent in improvements.
