Nomination 2 soys, acceptance 2 sovs. To start at, 11-30 o’clock ’ Hack Hurdles, of 10 sovs; entrance, 1 sov; post entry/; once round and a; distance ; weight not to be under 9 stone ; open to all horses that have never won an advertised race ; hack races excepted. To start at 12 o’clock noon Flying Handicap, of 40 sovs ; 2- of a mile ; top weight not to exceed 10 stone; nomination 1 sov, acceptance 2 sovs. To start at 1 o’clock Hack Race, for horses that have never won
public money or been nominated foi an advertised race, six months previous to date of meeting ; hack races excepted. To start at 1-30 o’clock Sapling Stakes, of 30 sovs; for 2-year-olds ; entrance 2 sovs ; six furlongs ; Derby weights; the winner, of any race after date of entry to carry a of 51! s, To start at 2 o’clock Autumn Handicap, of 125 soys; second horse to receive 25 sovs out of the stakes; nomination 2 sovs ; acceptance 5 sovs ; ,1J miles; winner of any race of the value of 100 sovs after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 71bs; top weight not to exceed 10 ; stone. No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those .whom, they may appoint.. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall le final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Box No 12, Waverley ; entrance money enclosed (exchange must be added to cheques), with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, the performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in colours entered will be fined 3 sovs.: ; . When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. In all weight-for-age races the new weight-for-age scale will be adhered to. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 6 sovs to the racfund. All races to be run under the W.J.C, Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Qualification fee for non-members, 1 sov. In all races the second horse only saves his stake when it is especially stated that he does so. No entries 6r nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the specified time for closing. Letters bearing .the postmark of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date will be received. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Autumn Handicap, and Guineas will close at Ballam’s Commercial Hotel on the 241h? February, 1883 at 10' o’clock a.m. Weights declared on the 2nd March. Acceptances and general entries close at 10 o’clock a.m., on the 6th March, 1883. at Ballam’s Commercial Hotel. Waverley and Waitotaea Guineas, 9th November, 1883—for 3-ycar-olds, to be nominated as 2-year-olds, of 105 sovs, with a sweepstake of 3 guineas at the post for starters, to go to second horse ; I.J miles ; colts Bst lOlbs, fillies and geldings Bst slbs ; nomination 2 sovs ; acceptance 4 sovs. Nominations close at 10 o’clock a.m. on the 24th February 1883, at Ballam’s Hotel.; WALTER SYMES, Hon, Sec.
