CANfEEBUKY COEN EXCHANGE. The following is the report for the week ending Friday, Feb. 16 The past week has witnessed considerable agitation in the wheat market, and the rapid rise which has taken place in values appears to have unsettled growers’ ideas as to selling or shipping, many have determined on the latter course, while others are waiting to see the market in a more settled condition. Threshing is now being rapidly proceeded with, and the grain is beginning to come down the lines. The weather has been most propitious ; it may be safely averred that the present is tho most favourable season we have had for years. Wheat.— Good shipping lines of prime quality with a fair proportion of Tuscan are worth from 4s to 4s 2d per bushel f.0.b,; chick wheat, 2s 9J to 3s, delivered in Christchurch, Oats.— Good, short milling are worth 2s to 2s o£d f.0.b.; feed quality, 2d a bushel less. Barley, —A few samples are to hand, but the quality is far from prime ; the colour is passable, but the grain is lean. The buyers have hardly yet openedTbe market, and will probably not do so till they see what there is in the country. Approximately the prices are at present' 4s to 4s 6d per bushel delivered in Christchurch. Grass Seed appears to move slowly. No great competition exists. Sales have taken place at from 3s to 3a 6d, according to sample. Cocksfoot, 3£d to 3|d per lb delivered in’ Christchurch. Cheese and Butter.—sd to 6d for the former ; 91 to 9£d for the latter.
