A first mooting of creditors in the estate of George Tuke, fanner, Whenuakura, was called to bo held at the Court-house at two o’clock, but was adjourned through the absence of creditors. He had become bankrupt owing to bad weather, and losing by contracts in delivering wood. He had received £4O from Major Turner, the last payment being on Monday week. He used £l6 left to go through the Court. He could not say he had not had over £43 the last four months. Had been paying in cash for the last five months, and had eleven in his family, five of whom were’children unable to earn a living. The creditors did not appoint a trustee or resolve on further action.

Jackson, £7O ; Bank of New Zealand, Waverley, unknown. Total £202 16s 6d. Assets— Household furniture and apparel, £SO ; horses (3) above distress for rent (£l3), and probable cost £2, and saddle and bridle, £2O ; amount due from Captain Bonnor, £10; amount duo from F. McKenzie on loan, £BO ; pig, £l. Total £l6l, deficit, £4l 16s 6d.

In answer to the Chairman tbo debtor said he bad no offer to make. The Registrar, Mr Dean, informed the creditors that Mr Lott bad a bailiff in possession of Unco horses, belonging to the debtor for rent, and the sale was fixed for two o'clock that day • but, at his suggestion, Mr Lett bad hold it over until four o'clock. Mr Lott's claim was lor £l3. Debtor attributed bis bankruptcy to loss on slock shipped to Westport. Ho had paid several persons money since be had boon in Patea, but bad not made any arrangement wilh any of the creditors, or asked them to slay away from the mooting. The £BO due by MoKenaie, who used to work for him, was for monies lent. McKenzie was in Melbourne, but ho did not know what part. Mr 11. E.”'Deane; There Is a rumour about that you filed on a previous occasion, and have not got your certificate yet? The debtor : 1 have never tiled in my life before! Mr R. A. Adams was appointed trustee at a remuneration of five per cent, on the gross proceeds, and ho was authorised to pay Mr Lott in full, and prevent the sale under distraint.
