A CONTRADICTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — I feel in duty bound to answer the slanderous imputation on me, contained in a letter signed, J. A. McKenna, which appeared in the last issue of your journal. In reply to a question put to me by Dr Newman at the creditors’ meeting on Tesday last, I stated that when I entered into partnership with Mr McKenna he put £5 of his own money into the business, which can be seen by the bank book. That statement I now challenge Mr McKenna to disprove. Because at the time of the dissolution of partnership there was about £2OO duo to the firm, he fails to see .how I acted in error in paying him £l2O for his share in the business. The business was only seven months in existence, started on a capital of less than £l2O, which had at the time outstanding liabilities to the amount of £440. Mr McKenna can not refute any statement made by me, and he is equally incapable of proving anything he has endeavoured to insinuate against me, and I treat with indignation and contempt his base remarks which clearly demonstrate the ill - feeling he has against me.—l am, &c., E. Cuelinan.
