PRODUCE REPORT, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report as follows in their circular for the ’Frisco Mail for 28th December : Wool.—Since elate of our last issue, via Brindisi, viz. on the 15th instant, but few features of interest have presented themselves in this market. Sales to a moderate extent have been made from first hands, principally of Australian Wool of the new clip, at prices reported as fully up to the closing rates of the auctions recently concluded. The intervention of the holiday season has in some measure helped to retard business, but with the opening of the new year, it is probable that further transactions may be effected, . Arrivals for the first series of 1883, the commencement of which has not yet been fixed, are as follows : • bales. New South Wales and Queensland 10,495 Victoria 10,939 South Australia 8,171 Western Australia 56 Tasmania 70 New Zealand 1,892 Cape of Good Hope 17,400 Total 49,023 Corn Market.—The Wheat Market manifests the quiet tone usual at this period of the year, and the little business passing is for the most part' at unaltered rates although occasionally slightly reduced prices are accepted for inferior descriptions. The only noteworthy feature is to be found in : the increased direct shipments from the United —Staloo-to—the—€?onianenfr, —the- total - quantity for the fortnight ended 23rd instant having been nearly 200,000 quarters. For the cargoes arrived at points of call there is, however, but little competition ; although in no case could purchases for forward or prompt shipment be made, at the prices now ruling off coast. No transactions nave been recorded in i Australian or New Zealand Wheat since our last report. The spot values of Australian and New Zealand Wheat remain practically as last quoted, the demand being but moderate. All descriptions of Flour are depressed owing to the heavy arrivals of American : and there are few buyers for the parcels of Australian offering on this market. In feeding stuffs there is no alteration.
