ACQUITTAL OF GUDGEON.

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, Jan. 27. Jndge Gillies summed up strongly against Gudgeon in the ease of the alleged attempted rape on Mrs Ehrenfried, but the jury acquitted him. On the instant the mass of people in the body of the Court cheered and hurrahed. The doors of the Court were shut, and a large number of names taken down, but none were identified. The Judge said that it was the most discreditable exhibition he had ever seen in a Court of justice, and he would- be glad if the offenders could be identified and brought before him.
