The Hon. Major Atkinson arrived in town at noon to-day, coming by buggy Irom Hawora. His Worship the Mayor and Councillors Gibson and Barton held a private interview with him this afternoon relative to the Borough loan. Major Atkinson proceeds overland to Wellington early to-morrow morning. Messrs Cunnington and Kent, instrument makers, of Christchurch, have succeeded in constructing a dynamo electric light machine, which they now use to Humiliate their premises.
