WAVERLEY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The ordinary meeting of the Waverley School Committee was held on Wednesday, 17th instant; present—-Messrs Caldwell, McDonald, Muir, Davis, and Bridge. The following accounts were passed .for payment G. Taylor* £l,lls 4d ; Collins; 18s; stamps, 2s 8d ; Rathway. 3s 9d. Proposed by Mr Bridge, seconded by Mr Davis, “That the boundaries of the Waverley district, as forwarded by the Board, be approved of.” Carried. The Chairman reported that he had given Mr Scott and Mr McMechin notice, to enable the former to reply tp complaints made by the latter at the last meeting of the Committee. Mr Scott ■'?% and Mr McMechin both attended. Mr Scott denied Mr McMechin’s charges, . - with the exception of having kept his children from- school oh the day of examination. As Mr McMechin produced' no evidence to substantiate his charges, the committee felt they could not at present deal with the matter. . Proposed by Mr Davis, seconded by Mr Muir—“That the well in the'teacher’s residence be cleared out, and arrangements made for a supply of ■ water to the scholars.” Carried. The Chairman read the Council report, which was adopted. Mr Seed was appointed auditor, and the meeting then adjourned.
