ENGLISH MARKETS . LONDON, Dec. 29. Consols 994 ; 5 per cent 10.40 loan, 105£ ; 5 per cent 1889 loan, 104 ; 44 per cent 1879-1904 loan, 101£. The markets for Colonial breadstuffs and tallow are with quotable change. Total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain, 2,200,000 quarters. MAIL NOTICKS. Mails are despatched from Patea as follow : DAILY MAILS OUTWARD. For Waverley, Waitotara, Maxwelltown Kai Iwi, Wanganui, and South, twice daily: box closes at 1-15 p.m. ami 7 p.m. For Kakararaca, Manutahi, Hawera, Normandy, Stratford, Inglewood, New Plymouth and North, at 11-15 a.m. Direct mails to Nelson and Wellington by every steamer.
