HEAVY DAMAGES AGAINST A SOCIETY JOURNAL .
[Reuter. —Copyright.] (Received Dec. 29, 12-30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 28. The libel action by Mr John Bell, the well known sculptor, against Mr Lawes, proprietor of Vanity Fair, has resulted in-a verdict for plaintiff for five thousand pounds damages. The libellous statement alleged that certain works shown by Mr Bell as his own were really those of other sculptors.
