The attention of sheep fanners is particularly called to the provisions of “ The Brands and Branding Act, 1880.” By virtue of the 7th section all brands duly registered on Ist January, 1881 (when the Act came into operation), shall be in force for two years, a period which expired therefore yesterday. By the 15th section it is provided that all sheep above tbo age of four months shall be branded with the registered brand of the owner, and for every sheep not so branded the owner shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £lO. Farmers must therefore be careful to have their lambs branded without loss of time.
