FOUND DROWNED.

(per press association.) WELLINGTON, Dec 19, The body of Mr Joseph Saunders, aged 80, father of Mr Joe.Saunders, the wellknown contractor, was found this morning in about two feet of water, close to the railings of tho Te Aro baths. He appears to have been some time in the water. There-was a slight cut over the left temple. The deceased gentleman was in the habit of taking long solitary walks late at night, and the wharf was a favorite place with him. It is supposed he must have fallen over accidentally, and probably struck his head against some of the timbers.
