GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.

[per PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 15. • The auction sale, of land in the Cape Egmont and Opunake Survey Districts was held this morning. There were a large, number of persons present, but few purchasers. The following is the result of the sale:—Fourteen deferred payment allotments, 1499 acres, £4316 14s 6d ; 12 village settlement small farm allotments, 2.12-| acres, £789 10s ; 8 cash allotments, 720 acres, £2042 10s ; totals, 34 sections, acres, £7148 14s 6d.
