[per press association.] NAPIER, this day. A young man named Ebenezer,Beck was drowned yesterday while bathing. ' ACCIDENT TO THE WELLINGTON COACH. (per press association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wellington-Foxton coach capsized just after leaving town early this morning. The driver was in the act of turning round when the wheels locked and resulted in the coach turning over. Mr Edward Mullock, of Flaxton, Canterbury, who occupied a box seat was thrown to the ground and the coach falling on him fractured his hip. The others escaped. _____ TWO SUDDEN DEATHS. (per press association) WELLINGTON, Dec 9. A very sudden death occurred at midnight, A man named Raymond Carter on going home knocked at the door for admittance. While the door was being opened he fell to the ground, and when picked up life was cxtinct. Deceased, who had not been long in Wellington, was in his usual spirits a quarter of an hour before death ensued. Supposed to be erysipelas of the brain. TIMARU Dec 9. Julius Mendelson, a well known and highly respected merchant at Temuka, dropped dead behind the counter of his shop, while writing a telegram, this morning. The deceased was an extensive proprietor, and a member of the County Council. . The cause of death is not known. •
