AUSTRALIAN.

[REUTER COPYRIGHT.] (Received Dec. 8, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 7. In the Legislative Assembly this evening Mr Munro asked that precedence might be given to the motion which he had placed upon the order paper, for the appointment of a select committee of seven to investigate into the railway administration of the colony. Sir Bryan O’Loghlen declines to grant precedence to the motion. Mr Munro, however, insisted on precedence being granted, and he was warmly supported by Mr Berry. The Premier therefore stated that the Government considered the motion os tantamount to a vote of want of confidence, and moved the adjournment of the House until Tuesday next at 10 o’clock. The discussion was still proceeding, the general feeling of the House being adverse to a vote of want of confidence.
