AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. A lad, aged 12, named Ernest Travers Chalk, was thrown from a horse on Saturday, His loot caught in the stirrup and ho was dragged for a considerable distance, and died withtn a few minutes. A sad case of drowning occurred at the Queen street wharf on Saturday night. A woman named Letitia Bryant, while waiting for the arrival of her husband feom Rivorhcad, fell into the water and was drowned. She has live children. Mr Bryce loaves tor Rotorua in a week.
