* About twenty gentlemen attended the adjourned meeting rc Harbour matters, which was held at the Borough Council Chamber at 3.30 this afternoon. Mr 11. Horner occupied the chair. Mr Sherwood commenced by referring to what had been done in the past by way of Harbour improvement and its cost. He then gave an exposition of his scheme, which shortly stated is, that the Borough should acquire the property belonging to Khodea’estate, the rents from which would bo sufficient to pay a largo share of the interest of any loan. It would also be necessary to levy a shilling rate on the' Borough, but Mr Sherwood expressed his firm belief that not more than threepence would bo required. The late hour at which the meeting was held of course prevents a-report in this issue.
