[REUTER —COPYRIGHT, j] CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 9 It has transpired that the Porte considers Lord Dufferin’s reply to its note asking what steps the British Government propose to take for the withdrawal of the troops as too vague, and farther information will be asked for. Later. It has transpired that the Porte, in the recent communication to Lord Dufferin, remarking upon the vagueness of his assurance that the British troops would be withdrawn from Egypt as soon as the pacification of that country was accomplished, further informed the British Ambassador that it required that evacuation of principality by the English army should be completed within three months ALEXANDRIA, Oct. 9. "Intelligence is to hand from Cairo that an English counsel has been denied access to Arabi by the Egyptian authorities. Sir E. Malet, the British ConsulGeneral, will therefore communicate with the Egyptian Government with a view to obtain permission for the counsel to visit Arabi. The murderers of Dr. Eibton and Signor Caltani, during the outbreak in this city in June last, were publicly hanged here this morning. [age specials per united press ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, Oct. 9. The Muleteers’ Transport Service in, Egypt has been ordered to remain, Lord Dufferin protesting against their withdrawal, which he considered to be premature. M. de Lesseps has wired to the Commission, before whom Arabi is being tried, that Arabi protected the Canal. European counsel in Alexandria decline to take up Arabi’s defence. Germany is promoting the unison of the Powers. Sir S. Northcote has received the freedom of the City of Glasgow, Letters have been found which prove that M. de Lesseps assisted Arabi. The Powers agree to allow Greece to join the indemnity. , The Commission decided to release the muleteers, and Lord Dufferin threatens to resign if his advice is disregarded. Oct. 8. Mustapha, an accomplice of Arabi, has been executed at Alexandria. The feeling in Egypt is atrongly i*” against France. A great fire occurred at Birkenhead. The Orient steamship Liguria was released from quarantine this evening, the health officer having decided that the disease from which Mr James Pile (one of the passengers) is suffering is not small-pox.
