(from our correspondent.) WAIROA HIGHWAY BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Wairoa Highway Board was held on Saturday. Present : Wardens Johnston, Aiken, McLean, and lon (chairman). Treasurer’s balance : General account, £425 18s Id ; Block VIII, £l4B 4s Id ; Block IX, Dr £lO. Report received from the Foreman of Works. Correspondence received from Commissioner of Grown Lands, J. Henson, J. ’Brophy, A. Milne, R. Garrett, Audit Office, Keating & Johnston, J. Hughes, Resolved, That the following accounts be passed for payment: — E.Thnrling .... £l4 0 H. F. Mason ... 115 6 E. G. Ross ... 916 0 J. Thursten ... 24 6 8 J. Hughes ~ 23 0 0 Resolved, That tenders be called for Henson’s road by next meeting. Resolved, That the Foreman of Works draw up specifications for ploughing and levelling (18 feet wide) Keating & Johnston’s road, by next meeting. Resolved, That tenders be called for cutting an embankment on Hearn & Kennedy’s road, by next meeting. Mr Garrett waited on the Board with report re Kohi and Okotuku road surveys. Mr Nicholson waited on the Board re road near his property at Momahaki.
