TO THE “MAIL.” (per reuter’s agency.) AFFAIRS IN EGYPT. Alexannria, 25. H.M’s Minotaur, the flagship of the Channel squadron, sails for Aboukir to-moorrow to reembark the marines, and will then proceed to Malta. The remainder ot the squadron will follow at an early date. Sept. 26. The Khedive held a crowded reception to-day at his palace at Cairo. His Highness took occasion during the reception to rebuke the Ulemas for meddling in political matters during the recent crisis. Sir Garnet Wolsely is indisposed. His illness is not, however, reported to bo of a serious nature.

London, 26th. —A despatch has been received from Sir Garnet Wolsely stating that the Khedive has expressed the warmest gratitude to the English nation for the assistance rendered during the. crisis. The despatch farther states that a grand review of the British troops will be held at Cairo on Saturday next. (Received 29, 1.10 a.m.)

Alexandria, 27th. Courts martial have been appointed by the Khedive to hold sittings at Cairo and in this city to try cases which may be submitted by the special commission of European and native officers appointed to prosecute those who were guilty of outrages against Europeans during the rebellion. An edict will be issued by the Khedive granting an amnesty to officers beluw rank of colonel who fought under Arabi. Constantinople, 27th.—-Baker Pasha sailed to-day for Egypt to undertake the re-organisation of the Egyptian army, and departed without awaiting the consent of the Sultan. Wool Sales. Loudon, 26th.—At the wool sale today 8800 bales were offered. The market is steady, but demand not active. FROZEN MEAT PRICES. MARKET OVERSTOCKED. London, 27th.—The cargo of frozen mutton ex Mataura has been found to be in good order, and quite equal in condition to the Dunedin’s shipment. A number of carcases were sold to-day at from fivepence'.halfpenny to sixpence per pound. The London meat market is at present overstocked.
