Results of Land Sale.

(BY TELEGRAPH.) Hawera, Monday. The sale of sections was continued on Saturday for about an horar, and some sections were also offered this morning. The total amount realised is £72,500. Of this sum 25 per cent, will go to New Plymouth breakwater. The total amounts realised at Friday’s sale were : Rural sections... ... £42,500 Manaia township sections 477 Opunaki township sections 88 Opunaki suburban sections 425 Village settlements— Cash sections ... 3,000 Deferred payment secs. 3,000 Deferred p. sections, 2,600 acres ... ... 22,000 Total ... ... £71,490 Other sections sold on Saturday and to-day will increase the total to £72,500. The d.f. sections (rural) averaged about £8 5s per acre. About 7254 acres for cash, mostly front bush sections, averaged £5 7s 6an acre. Other bush sections further back, about 2,200 acres, averaged £1 13 per acre, being a little over the upset price. Later information shows that open land averaged £7 Is per acre, bush £4 Is 6d, inferior £1 13s, for cash. 9447 acres of rural land were sold on deferred payment, and 2680 acres for cash.
