This Afternoon PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS—A STRUGGLE. Wellington, Monday.— The House has been wrangling most of this morning over the cost of repairing Parliament Buildings. The vote asked for in the Estimates raises the question whether it is worth while spending L 10 } 000 in improving the present building, in face of the desire of many members to change the seat of Government to Christchurch. The House disposed of repeated amendments, and then passed a vote of LIOjOOO, being half the amount first proposed. LAND BILL. Wellington, Monday.—A conference of the two Houses is to be held on the Land Bill, in order to arrange a compromise as to amendments made by one House and disagreed to by the other.
