A splendid mob of cattle passed through Patea on Saturday from the farm of Mr Croker, Hawera, and purchased by Mr John Davidson. They were pronounced by experienced judges to be the finest draft of cattle that have passed down the coast for a long time. Many of the animals would turn the scales at llcwt. The price is said to average something over £d a head.
