The vestry of St. George’s Church have passed a resolution inviting the Rev. J. L. Keating to remain as curate, and requesting him not to make his next Sunday’s sermon a farewell one, as intended, but to remain as pastor until the proposed new church is erected, and the affairs of the church generally are established on a sound basis. The Vestry expressed entire satisfaction with their pastor’s ability and methods. Other church business was transacted. The vestry will meet again immediately to consider the Bishop’s answer (just received) relative to the proposed mortgage on the parsonage glebe as a means of raising funds for the new church. A meeting of the congregation will then be held, relative to the building scheme and the Curacy. A Wesleyan service will be held at Waverley on Sunday afternoon, in the old Town Hall.
