MR. C.F. BARKER’S REPORT.

At the sale of stock held in my Patea yards on Thursday, 12 two-year steers fetched £4 a head, 12 cows £3 6s, 8 milking cows £3 7s 6d to £5, 30 fat bullocks £B. The demand for steers is increasing, and I expect it will be good in spring. Sheep show a decided fall in values, fully 2s per head. I quote fat wethers at 15s for shipment, fat ewes 14s. Horses—Demand for draught stock ; no demand for hacks unless first-class. Damaged oats sold on Thursday at 3s 6d a bushel for feed. GRAIN AND SEED REPORT. Spring seed wheat, 5s to 5s 6d ; im ported, 6s 6d to 6s 9d. Oats.—Seed Oats, 5s to 5s 6d ; Feed, 4s 6d to 4s 9d. Peas.—Blue field, 7s ; White do. 7s. Linseed —Seed, 9s per bushel of 561bs.
