TO THE “ MAIL.” — FEDERATION OF COLONIES. Melbourne, this day. - Speaking at a Banquet given in his honor last evening, Sir Henry Parkes strongly advocated the federation of the Australian Colonies, or at all events the union of Victoria and New South Wales. He stated that his recent travels had confirmed his conviction of the future prosperity of Australasia. English Harvest.. London, 14th. English harvest operations are progressing favorably and rapidly, and a good yield is expected. Bank Robbery. Melbourne.—Particulars which are to hand regarding the robbery from the Colonial Band at Reedy Creek show that the thieves entered the bank and abstracted the keys of the safe from the pocket of the manager’s coat. The manager was ill and asleep, and w r as not disturbed by the robbers.
