At a meeting of the Wellington Harbor Board, communications from the Harbor Master with regard to the luminous paint were read. It had been found that luminous paint answered its purpose very well in rendering buoys more readily seen, but great difficulty was experienced in keeping buoys so painted clean, as birds wore attracted by it, and in a very short time the white color was gone. The hides of all the cats in America would be worth £2,000,000 to commerce. And it’s a fearful shame to have so much property lying idle. •
