AMERICAN TROTTING HORSES

By the last mail steamer there arrived in Auckland the largest and most valuable lot of trotting horses that have ever yet been imported into Australasia. They are owned by Mr Jonn Kerr, of Nelson, by whom they were selected. This gentleman has been extensively engaged in the breeding of stock in this colony for a great many years, and a short time ago visited America for the purpose of satisf}--ing himself upon the far-famed superiority of American trotters. Of his satisfaction upon the merits of their trotting stock, Mr Kerr has given substantial evidence, as he has brought with him the largest and most valuable lot of horses ever shipped from America as a private enterprise Among Mr Kerr’s purchases are several -well-known sires and dams, also a number of untried ones, whose breeding assures their success. —Auckland Herald.
