Pastoral, Wairoa district 1,305 61,800 Patea East 4,219 37,800 Patea West 3,376 20,000 Hawera district 4,297 30,200 Ngaire district 2,507 Outlying districts 98,723 128,386 Totals 114,427 281,186 Also the University reserve of 10,000 ■■res, near Patea, recommended for long leasing in farm sections of 200 to 500 acres each; The Government owns other large areas eastward of the Patea river, up the Mongaehu branch, where a vast extent of level bush country is known to be excellent for settlement.
