C. P. BARKER'S REPORT. Land and Property. —Since my last I have sold section in Bed ford-street on which is erected the premises lately occupied by'the Bank of New.Zealand, for LSOO to Mr’Josiah Richards, Also, Lloyd’s Hotel, Manaia, to a Canterbury hotel-keeper, at a satisfactory figure. There is an increased demand for good farms, and I am expecting a number of clients from the South here in time for the land sale. -*■ Stock. Cattle. —Owing to the wet weather very few were brought forward for niy last sale, but they were sold at satisfactory prices. Yearlings L2, cows L 6. Good fat bullocks, L 7 10s. Sheep. — Store- wethers, 12s. Fat wethers, 14s 3d. Lambs mostly shorn, 6s lOd. Grain. Wheat.—(Spring seed) 5s 6d local, to 6s 6d Canterbury. Oats, —Feed 4s 6d, seed 6s to 5s 4d, black'and white. Potatoes. —Not muclri doing but the demand for good seed will be large. Linseed. —Seed samples, 9s per bushel of 53 lbs.. Peas.—Seed 7s per bushel. Rye Grass Seed. —The demand for spring sowing has not yet set in. Present quotations are from 5s 6d (local), to 7s per bushel (imported). I held a sale of fruit trees imported from Canterbury. There was a large attendance and spirited competition for the various lots offered. All of them were cleared at satisfactory prices.
