The great traveller Stanley is at present located at Upper Congo, and is in excellent health. He is at the head of a party numbering 236, of whom 200 are Zanzibares, and a few whites. He is also agent for a number of companies who have taken up land in Africa. Joseph Whitwell Pease is the first Quaker to be created a baronet.
