He gives his whole attention to their cultivation, and every satisfaction has been given to persons importing them to the North Island. A Government return of the yield ‘of the harvest in this colony last year was as follows : Wheat, 8,297,890 bushels; oats, 6,924,848 bushels; barley, 664,093 bushels. As to the amount of land cultivated, there was 17070 acres less than in the previous year.
