PUBLIC OPINION.
MANUTAHI SCHOOL AFFAIRS.
In your paper of the 12th inst, I see a long rambling statement from “ Observer. He does not endeavour to contradict any of my statements, but he wishes to correct me by saying that there were three petitions. Now I still maintain that there were only’ two sent to the Education Board. “ Observer” would have people to believe he is working for the general welfare of the district in his vain endeavours to retain an uncertificated in preference to a certificated teacher. If it had not been for a few like “ Observer” (who has no children attending school) interfering in school matters, it would have been settled quietly. “Observer” seems to be good at giving advice fas all his letters contain some) ; but I will just repeat for bis consideration an old saying : Any fool can give advice, but it takes a wise man to act upon it. Trusting I have not hurt “ Observer’s” tender feelings in stating facts that he cannot contradict. I remain Faibplay.
