The following London despatches are published in the Age - Serious fears are entertained by the Irish authorities that a widespread Fenian rising is imminent. Orangemen of Armagh are actively organising to defeat the project, and should an insurrection break out, they will be prepared to render armed assistance in quelling it. It is stated that Lord Dufferin, British ambassador at Constantinople, is urging upon the Conference to sanction the occupation of the Suez Canal by Great Britain. Brigadier-General Sir Evelyn Wood has received orders to be in readiness to assume command of a British land force in Egypt should the occupation of the Suez .Canal by Great Britain be decided on. Further outrages have been committed on European population in Egypt. Disturbance broke out a town named Benha, and before the riot could be quelled several Europeans were slaughtered.
