Winning a Seat.

A grand banquet was given to Mr Joseph Ivess, the elected Liberal candidate for Wakanni. About 70 gentlemen assembled, and toasts, speeches, and singing were the order of the evening. A local bard favored the company by compiling the following verses, which were sang: Let’s shout hurrah for the plucky man

We returned for the Wakanni seat; And cheer him for the manner in which

He Wason and Saunders beat. Hurrah for the committee, and Hurrah for chairman St. Hill, May they always support the right; Hurrah for the many electors, who Are present here to-night.

Chorus; ; For they are the men, ray boys, They are the men for me ; ' Who returned Joseph Ivess, V Whose name will long survive us And placed him “'top of the tree.”
