This Afternoon. Absconder Harges, the Auckland absconder, has been sentenced to a fortnight’s imprisonment previous to his extradition under the New Zealand warrant. Trouble in Egypt. Alexandria, 9th.—Dervish Pasha and other members of the Turkish mission to Egypt, have been received by the Khedive. Parkes. Brussels, 10th:—Sir Henry Parkes has been feted and entertained at dinner in this city and at Venders. Alexandria, 10th.—The strong ill-feel-ing of the Native population of this city towards Europeans manifested itself last evening Jin an attack by large bodies upon several parties of English and- other residents. In the affray which took place, several Europeans were killed, including engineer of: H.M.S. Superb ; and many were wounded, including the British Consul, who suffered very severe injury. The disturbance was ultimately suppressed by military being called out when order was restored.
