Councillor Yorke drew attention to the bad quality of gravel put on Tongahoe hill. Other councillors said they had remarked it, and thought the quality too bad. Complaints were also made as to the quality of gravel sent down by rail. Most of it was admitted to be very good, though “ stoney,” and it was thought a little supervision would be desirable. It was resolved that a clause to prevent this be inserted in future specifications. On Good Behavior.

Councillor Partridge moved, “ That Messrs Livingstone, Yorke, and the mover be a committee to compile bye-laws for conduct of business of the Council.”
