Second Edition DISOBEYING THE COURT.

Re the bankruptcy of W. Williams, Mr North obtained a Judge’s order for Williams Brothers to give up their business books for inspection. The object of this order was to ascertain evidence of partnership between the sons and the bankrupt. The books were to be given up for inspection within 8 days. ■ The order was not obeyed, and the brothers were then summoned to appear before the judge at New Plymouth to show cause why they should not be committed for contempt of Court. The case came on yesterday, before Judge Rawsonj at New Plymouth. Mr Govett appeared for Williams junr and D. J. Wi’liams, Mr Richmond for the trustee, and Mr Hughes to watch the proceedings on behalf of Mr North, a creditor.

. Mr Richmond applied for an adjournment of the case until Friduy, which was granted.
