A special meeting was,held on Wednesday ; the Mayor and eight councillors present. , Resolved that the Mayor and Councillor King be the delegates to interview Government re Public Buildings, and to proceed to Wellington as soon as convenient. It was resolved to find out the elevation of Lake Rotakari, and if it would be likely servo at any time as a water supply to the; :Borough, the Mayor should try and obtain it from the Government.

. Mr Pinches’ plan for the Council Chambers; was accepted, and tenders are to be called for their erection at once.

After some -accounts were passed, the Council adjourned.
