ENGLISH CROP PROSPECTS.
In its issue of March 6, The Mark Lane Exjyress says During the earlier part of the past week heavy rains occurred, which resulted in serious floods in some of the river valleys, and all the clayland districts are now too wet fo admit of cultivation. Strong, drying winds have since prevailed, but a considerable amount of rain has fallen during £the night, and the weather this morning bias a very unsettled appearance. The growing crops have been stimulated by the rainfall, the temperature remaining high for the time of year, arid the vrheats maintain their strong and healthy appearance. All autumn sown crops now begin to shew a more rapid growth, but the color remains good, and they are now fortunately forward at the commencement of March ; as a whole, they are not at all dangerously: so for the time of year, which may 7 said to have fairly 7 overtaken them. Reports of the lambing season, which has; now become tolerably advanced, continue to be favorable, arid prospects for spring: keep are unusually good. .
