Parore’s. grandfather pays the expenses, amounting to £3OO. They take, meres and mats as presents to the Queen. - FLOODS f iITTHE SOUTHA Tapanui telegram states that the river Pomuhaka overflowed; its banks. The Kelss is flooded, the people having to leave their dwellings. Lower down the river, between Glenkurich and Porauhaka, the water is out a mile oiveither side. The damage is not yet ascertained. The train on the Outran* branch line, on the Taieri Plans, was unable to get through on Monday, the line being under water about a. foot in some places.
