MR HALSE'S CREDITORS.
At the creditors meeting of the late Mr Halse, held at New Plymouth on Tuesday, a lengthy discussion took place as to throwing the estate into bankruptcy, and as to making Mr "Roy a bankrupt separately from the partnership. It, was proposed, on behalf of Mr Roy, that two creditors be appointed to investigate and report on the affairs ; and ultimately the following resolution was adopted “ That Messrs King and Weston be requested to act as a committee on behalf of the creditors to investigate into the affairs of the firm of Halse & Roy, and of Mr Halse, deceased, and to report generally to an adjourned meeting to be held to-day fortnight, and to advise the creditors as to the expediency of Mr Roy filing a declaration of insolvency.” At the meeting of Mr Halse r s creditors, it was stated that Mr Roy, as junior partner, first became aware of Mr Halse’s difficulties on the 29th March. It was not till the Easter holidays that Mr Roy ascertained the difficulties were serious. Mr Halse was averse to calling a meeting of creditors, but then Mr Roy insisted on that course, an! a meeting was called. Mr Halse was found dead on the morning that the meeting was to be held.
