The directors of the Patea S.S. Companyhave decided to abandon the steamer as a total wreck, and the underwriters ba% r e therefore resolved to sell her by auction as she lies. The officers and crew of the steamer have been paid off. HARBOR LOAN,. The Harbor Board have adopted a resolution this afternoon; empowering the chairman to call a public meeting in Patea and such other parts of the district as, lie thinks-desirable, to consider the question of rating the town and district for a karbor loan. Only four members were present, and the motion-was carried by the chairman’s, casting vote.
