R. H. Nolan & Co.’s Monthly Report,

R..H. Nolan, Hawera, report on 14th : Our fortnightly sales of general goods have been well attended, and business lias been done more advantageous!}* than hitherto. On Saturday last we held a trade sale of timber, iron, and other goods. P.T.&G. lining brought 12s, architraves-7s to 8s 6d, mouldings 3s to 4s 3d, corrugated irons £25 per ton, cornsaeks 10s. Seed. —This trade is very dull, owing to the prevalence of wet weather, and consequently bad burns. We have disposed of several parcels of Canterbury, and Poverty Bay rye grass seed at 7s to 7s 6d, clover from 10£ d to 12£ d, rape ll^d Grain.—We quote oats (good sample) 3s 6d, wheat 4s 3d.

Land. Several sections, principally suburban, in and about Hawera, have changed hands during the month. We also quitted 520 acres in the Cape survey district, to Mr Mills, of Canterbury, at a satisfactory figure. The Colonial Brewery, Hawera, advertised for sale yesterday, was bought by F. McGuire, Esq., for £6OO.

Stock. —At our usual monthly sale on 13th inst. there was a large number of entries, considerably more stock being brought forward than was advertised. The attendance was good, and bidding spirited, most of the pens being disposed of at the hammer. Cattle. quote—weaners 32s 6d to 37s 6d, yearlings to 18-inonths-old £2 Iss to £3 10s, 2-year olds £3 17s 6d, 3-year-olds £5, store cows £2 17s 6d to £3 10s, fat cow’s £4 17s 6d, dairy cows from £5 to £7 10s, Sheep. —No entries.

Horses.—A great many came forward, but few changed hands. ' Hacks £-5 to £7 10s, draught £l4 to £lB.
